On Thursday morning, Jaxon Ravens, Washington State Democrats Executive Director, was elected President of the Association of State Democratic Executive Directors by acclamation at their meeting in Richmond, Virginia.
Jaxon has been Executive Director for the Washington State Democrats since 2005 and has worked for the Party since 2004 when he stepped in to manage the 2004 caucus cycle. He is always ready to go the extra mile, as the picture to the right (from the 2007 Crab Feed) shows
Jaxon grew up in Missoula, MT. He has a bachelors degree in politics and economics from the University of California at Santa Cruz and an MBA in international management from Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management.
Before coming to the Washington State Democrats, Jaxon worked as the Executive Director for the King County Democrats. He spent the 1990s traveling overseas and in 2003 biked across the US following the Lewis and Clark Trail.
Jaxon is actively involved in several local non-profit organizations including Seattle Works, Circus Contraption and the Red Cross.
As you can see, Jaxon is a man of many talents and interests. Ask him to take you mushroom hunting, and he'll happily oblige.
Jaxon, we are all very proud of you! Thank you for your years of service to Washington and to the Party.
