New ideas from the "New Options for Organizing Democrats" session

Just a quick thought of mine:

I have to say, that as a newer person to the structure of the party and involvement with the legislative district meetings, one set of ideas caught my eye. I truly enjoyed the presentation about the possibility of changing the way that our meetings are conducted. Normally the rundown involves reports by the Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, etc. In this new structure, there is a focus on action. The meeting begins with a brief introduction and then having reports by different subcommittees such as those that deal with fundraising, recruiting and so forth. After that members break into those groups and strategize or discuss various issues in terms of their responsibilities. Once more there is another short report, before adjourning with the party members heading out to socialize outside the constructs of the business of the meeting, whether it is by enjoying pizza or other such places. I think this is a great way to invite and involve younger members of the party to get them interested in becoming more involved and willing to participate as well as being able to then bring in more ideas.
