Leadership Training - Reference Materials Available at this website

Thank you to all who participated in the planning and conduct of the course Saturday April 25th. We distributed 82 CDs and have made the materials available here.

The following links are the files included on the CD from the training session on April 25th, 2009.

  • Leadership Training Presentation, April 25, 2009 - These are the slides we projected onto the screen. A great overview of what a new chair needs to do when elected. This is a great presentation for new and returning chairs alike!

  • Complete list of elected positions up for election in King County, 2009 - It is important to get a list like this from the County Auditor or Elections Department each year.

  • Chairs Handbook, 2009 - Don't be a chair without it!

  • Roberts Rules of Order, Motion Chairt - This is a two page table showing what kind of motions are applicable in what situations. Very useful for quick reference.

  • KCDCC-Process for Vetting New Candidates - It is the mission of the party to elect candidates that will support our platform. This is a useful starting guide on how to identify those candidates that really deserve our support.

  • Basic Votebuilder Walking Lists - This is the presentation that Martha put together for the PCO training.

  • Bylaws Example, King County 2009 - Every organization needs a set of bylaws. This is an example.

  • Printing Precinct Maps - King County has installed the Imap application, and this document shows how to print precincts and manipulate the application's many options.

  • Resolution example - Resolutions are an important way to articulate our responses to current events. But it also makes it easier on everyone if they are presented in the proper format.

  • Standing Rules - Standing Rules help us conduct business without having every procedure outlined in the Bylaws. This example shows the Endorsement Rules of the King County Democrats.

  • Strategic Plan - We can help keep our focus if we develop a Strategic Plan. This example is what the King County Democrats put together for the 2008 election year.

Thank you for your ideas and support,
